Paul Greene
Bass & Baritone Vocals

Born in Phenix City, AL, Paul started on acoustic guitar at age 11.  He was tutored and inspired by a truck-driving Uncle who would take time to teach him country and bluegrass songs.   The hard work paid off, and by age 15 he was regularly performing on guitar and bass with southern gospel group such as "The King's Trio" and "The Comers".  He attended high school with Roger Newman and Ronnie Hall,  eventually forming musical and personal friendships that have lasted for years.

He's been continuously active in the local and regional music scene, filling the bass and guitar slots in a number of groups and earning a reputation as a rock-solid, versatile player.

"Rock Solid" is a great description of what Paul brings to Eastwind, not only in terms of his driving guitar but also in his relationship with fans and friends.  "What I enjoy the most is the ability to touch someone and revive a memory of a favorite song they've heard or grown up with."    He's worked for 18 years as an exterminator, largely due to his enjoyment of the "people aspects".  He's given away hundreds of Eastwind CDs to friends and customers; "I love to pull up to someone's home and hear our stuff playing!".

Paul lives outside Phenix City, Al with his wife and 2 children.   The Greene home is prone to house any number and variety of wildlife, currently including 2 dogs, a python, and a hairless rat (which Paul swears is NOT food for the snake…).
